Challenging Choreography Required Intensive Preparation for Naga and Sai
Naga Chaitanya’s latest film, Thandel, debuted in theaters on February 7 and has since garnered critical acclaim. Starring alongside Sai Pallavi, the film’s emotionally rich storyline and compelling performances have resonated with audiences around the globe, propelling it into the coveted 100 crore club at the box office. The commitment to quality and heartfelt storytelling is evident in the film’s production, especially highlighted in the song “Namo Namah Shivaya.”
Reports indicate that both Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi engaged in rigorous rehearsals for the song, which featured choreography that deviated from standard dance styles. This required additional effort and precision, leading them to practice for almost eight to nine days before finalizing the shoot. Their dedication culminated in a successful final take after nearly a week of intense training.
The release of Thandel met the high expectations of fans, generating extraordinary buzz across social media platforms. Veteran actor Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya’s father, expressed his pride publicly. He shared a heartfelt message accompanied by a touching photo of himself with his son, celebrating the success of the film on X (formerly Twitter). In his post, he articulated his admiration, stating, “Dear @chay_akkineni, I am proud of you! I have witnessed your determination as you faced challenges and dedicated yourself to your craft. Thandel is not merely a film; it showcases your unwavering passion, the courage to aspire, and your tireless effort.”
Nagarjuna further acknowledged the support of Akkineni fans, affirming that the film’s triumph belongs as much to them as it does to the filmmaker and the cast. His message was filled with gratitude, emphasizing the close-knit relationship with supporters.
The narrative of Thandel is inspired by a true event from 2018, depicting the ordeal of fishermen from Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, who accidentally entered Pakistani waters and faced detention. The film powerfully conveys their hardships, the emotional toll of imprisonment, and the inspirational journey that unfolds. Additionally, the plot includes a romantic element between the characters played by Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, drawing parallels to the real-life couple involved in the incident.
Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, with a moving musical score by Devi Sri Prasad, Thandel touched the hearts of many viewers, evoking strong emotions and leaving audiences in tears as they exited theaters.
