The Picture of Dorian Gray Set to Premiere on Broadway
The highly anticipated Broadway production of The Picture of Dorian Gray has unveiled a special ticket promotion to mark its box office opening. Debuting at the Music Box Theatre, this stage adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s only novel will be presented by the Sydney Theatre Company, featuring Emmy and Olivier Award winner Sarah Snook. The official opening is scheduled for Thursday, March 27, 2025, with previews beginning on Monday, March 10, 2025. This limited engagement will run for 14 weeks.
The production follows a successful sold-out run in London’s West End. Snook, who received the 2024 Olivier Award for her remarkable performance, will make her Broadway debut by portraying 26 characters in this exquisite adaptation crafted by Kip Williams.
To celebrate Snook’s compelling portrayal, on Monday, February 3 at 10:00 AM ET, there will be a special offer of 26 pairs of tickets priced at $50 each for the first individuals in line, with a limit of two tickets per person. This ticket offer applies exclusively to mezzanine seats for non-Saturday preview performances. Attendees are encouraged to arrive at the box office promptly to take advantage of this opportunity. Availability is limited.
Snook is widely recognized for her role as Shiv Roy in the acclaimed series “Succession,” a performance that garnered her international praise. During the show’s four-season run, she received an Emmy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and a Critics Choice Award.
The world premiere of The Picture of Dorian Gray in 2020 captivated audiences, extending its run twice in Sydney before embarking on a successful tour across Australia. The production’s recent London engagement was similarly well-received, earning Snook a Best Actress Olivier Award, along with a Best Costume Design Olivier Award for Marg Horwell.
Kip Williams’ adaptation of Wilde’s exploration of beauty, excess, and moral compromise resonates significantly in today’s society, reflecting contemporary culture’s fixation on youth and vanity.
The production boasts impressive creative contributions: set and costume design by Marg Horwell, lighting design by Nick Schlieper, and sound components by Clemence Williams. David Bergman oversees video design, while Eryn Jean Norvill serves as Dramaturg and Creative Associate.
The Picture of Dorian Gray on Broadway is produced by a collaborative team including Michael Cassel, Adam Kenwright, Len Blavatnik, Danny Cohen, Daryl Roth, Amanda Lipitz, and Henry Tisch. General management is handled by Foresight Theatrical, with Aaron Lustbader as the Executive Producer. The worldwide Executive Producer is Michael Cassel Group.
Sarah Snook is represented by United Talent Agency, Shanahan, and Jennifer Gabler Rawlings from Omni Artists LTD.
