Ulefone has launched the Armor 28 Ultra, a robust Android smartphone designed to combine cutting-edge performance with exceptional durability.
Known for its line of rugged devices, Ulefone claims that the Armor 28 Ultra is the first AI-enabled rugged smartphone, featuring integrated Google Gemini for enhanced app interactions.
This smartphone also boasts the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset, rumored to surpass the A17 Pro used in the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Designed for Harsh Environments
The Armor 28 Ultra comes equipped with an impressive 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage and 32GB of RAM, which combines 16GB of LPDDR5X with an additional 16GB of virtual RAM, facilitating seamless multitasking.
Measuring 6.86 x 3.29 x 0.76 inches, the phone features a reinforced chassis and rubberized port covers for its USB-C charging port and headphone jack, further enhancing its durability.
The smartphone showcases a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and an advanced 120Hz refresh rate. Its peak brightness reaches 2200 nits, ensuring clear visibility under direct sunlight.
A secondary 1.04-inch AMOLED screen on the back offers instant access to notifications and critical functions, akin to the Dynamic Display found on Apple’s iPhone.
Unlike many rugged phones that compromise camera quality for toughness, the Armor 28 Ultra features a robust rear camera system that includes three sensors accompanied by an LED flash.
The primary camera adopts a 50MP Sony IMX989 sensor with a one-inch sensor size for superior light intake and image clarity. Complementing this is a 64MP night vision camera with an OV64B sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 117.3° field of view, which adds thermal imaging capabilities. The front-facing camera also delivers a high-resolution 50MP for sharp selfies and video conferencing.
Powering the Armor 28 Ultra is an enormous 10,600 mAh battery that supports swift 120W fast charging, paired with 50W wireless charging options. The reverse charging feature allows it to act as a power bank for other devices.
This device is a pioneer in rugged smartphones, supporting Wi-Fi 7 along with dual SIM capabilities and compatibility with 5G, 4G, 3G, and 2G networks, with service availability dependent on the carrier.
Additional features include NFC for contactless payments, an IR blaster for remote control functions, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Ulefone has confirmed that the Armor 28 Ultra will be available for purchase on AliExpress, with the standard model priced at $749 and the thermal imaging version at $899. The sales launch is scheduled for March 17.
