Popular Minecraft YouTuber Dream has transformed his distinctive blob mascot into a virtual character model as part of a significant rebranding initiative for his channel.
On August 18, Dream announced his plans to initiate a “rebrand” to embark on a “new chapter” in his online presence.
Speculation among fans increased regarding a potential change to his iconic mask, as he hinted at major updates to both his mask and logo.
The revamped brand was unveiled on April 26, where Dream disclosed in a video that he is venturing into the world of VTubing.
Dream 2.0 introduces a new “blob” VTuber model
The announcement was broadcast on YouTube and X, resembling a nostalgic Apple keynote presentation. The focus quickly shifted to Dream’s brand, particularly his mascot—the blob.
“There are issues with the blob,” Dream remarked. “It lacks expressiveness, versatility, and depth… it simply doesn’t move. It’s just a blob.”
“So we reinvented the concept. I identified several elements we could enhance: motion, reflecting the Dream brand, and incorporating 3D design. Hence, we created Dream 2.0, which introduces height, width, and depth to the character, allowing for a visible side profile. So now… I’m a VTuber.”

In addition to the new VTuber model, Dream made slight adjustments to his social media profile pictures, banners, and his Dream XD channel.
The content creator also committed to producing videos and streaming with increased frequency.
This new VTuber phase comes almost three years after Dream initially unveiled his face, only to revert to wearing a mask shortly after due to extensive online harassment.
