Duke Dennis Reacts to GloRilla’s Lyrics Sparking Debate

Twitch personality Duke Dennis expressed confusion after a new song featuring rapper GloRilla referred to him, seemingly labeling him as unattractive. This discussion arose following the release of “ILBB2” by Jorjiana on February 21, where GloRilla’s lyrics included a mention of Dennis.

In her verse, GloRilla rapped, “Like my ****** tall and brown, and mixed with a little bit of ugly. Uh, uh-huh, they say shooters shoot. Uh, uh-huh, Duke Dennis what’s up with you?” This pointed reference sent waves through social media and raised eyebrows among fans.

During his Twitch stream on February 22, Duke Dennis noted the sudden surge of messages and calls he received after the song’s release. “I’ve never had a day where my phone was going off the charts like that. And then when I finally seen, like, what it was I’m like ‘Ok?’…I promise you, if what y’all are talking about is not a big deal, we’re gonna have a real got damn problem,” he stated, highlighting his surprise at the reaction.

Duke Dennis Questions GloRilla’s Intent

In the stream, Dennis sought clarification regarding GloRilla’s intentions. “Those two lines are separate though, right? You wasn’t talking about me? Because it was like ‘uh-huh’ in between, you know, two different people,” he remarked, showcasing his uncertainty about whether he was indeed the subject of the comment.

Despite the potential insult, Dennis took the situation in stride, admitting that he wouldn’t mind being labeled a little ugly, as he believes everyone has their unattractive moments upon close inspection. His lighthearted approach resonated with many viewers.

Following the song’s release, social media users quickly leveraged the lyrics for humor. One Twitter user quipped, “So basically, she called Duke Dennis ugly in a poetic way,” while another joked, “Lmao she really said ‘you cute but in a unfinished character model kinda way.’”

Upon further listening and analysis, Duke Dennis remained unconvinced that GloRilla was indeed referencing him, arguing that “she could’ve been talking about anybody.” His perspective illustrates the often ambiguous nature of lyrical references in hip-hop, leaving much to interpretation.

Interestingly, Duke Dennis is not alone in the spotlight this week, as fellow AMP member Kai Cenat recently experienced a moment of interaction with T-Pain that also captured public interest. These moments highlight the dynamic relationships between influencers and celebrities in today’s music and streaming landscape.
