Electronic Arts has unveiled its forthcoming title in the Star Wars franchise: Star Wars Zero Company. This single-player, turn-based strategy game is in development by Bit Reactor, with significant collaboration from Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games. Set during the climactic period of the Clone Wars, the game promises a “gritty and authentic story” that revolves around a unique group of operatives tackling a new cosmic threat. Players can anticipate the game’s release in 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X.
Star Wars Zero Company Launch Details
The announcement of the strategy game came shortly after a leak, culminating in a full reveal during the Star Wars Celebration event held in Japan. In Star Wars Zero Company, players will assume the role of Hawk, a former Republic officer tasked with assembling and commanding an unusual team of elite mercenaries. The members of Zero Company hail from diverse backgrounds within the galaxy and include iconic characters such as astromechs, Jedi, and various droids, each boasting unique personalities and combat capabilities.
To coincide with the announcement, EA released a trailer showcasing both cinematic sequences and gameplay elements of the strategy game.
“Our vision for Star Wars Zero Company is established around core gameplay principles that seamlessly integrate the immersive Star Wars universe and engaging turn-based tactical gameplay,” Greg Foertsch, CEO and Creative Director at Bit Reactor, shared in a press release. “We aim to craft a unique Star Wars narrative from the Clone Wars era, focusing on significant player choice outcomes and deep tactical combat, all presented in an approachable, cinematic style.”
Players will oversee Zero Company while embarking on tactical missions and investigations throughout the galaxy, along with the opportunity to establish a base of operations. The character of Hawk, along with each operative, will have extensive customization options, including appearance and combat class. Players can choose from a variety of original Star Wars species and character classes while adjusting their operatives’ looks, loadouts, and capabilities across numerous archetypes including Clone Troopers, astromechs, and Jedi.

Building strong relationships with squad members will be essential during missions, enabling players to unlock combat synergies that can tip the scales in battle. Successful tactical operations will hinge upon careful preparation, the right team configuration, and strategic planning.
At the announcement event, EA also introduced four original characters featured in the game: Trick, a clone soldier; Luco Bronc, an incendiary sharpshooter; Cly Kullervo, a Mandalorian gunslinger; and Tel, a Tognath Jedi Padawan.
EA has highlighted that Star Wars Zero Company will feature one of the most expansive and interactive maps ever seen in a Star Wars game. Players will explore familiar locations from various Star Wars narratives, including Serolonis from The Bad Batch, Vandor from Solo: A Star Wars Story, Mapuzo from Obi-Wan Kenobi, and others.
Although a specific release date has yet to be disclosed, Star Wars Zero Company is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X in 2026. The title is now available for wishlisting across all supported platforms.
