Saquon Barkley Embraces Family Moments Ahead of NFC Championship Game

Saquon Barkley, the dynamic running back for the Philadelphia Eagles, demonstrated his commitment to family during a crucial moment before Sunday’s NFC Championship Game. Just hours before the Eagles faced off against the Washington Commanders on January 26, 2025, Barkley took time to connect with his children and girlfriend, showcasing his love and affection for them.

A heartwarming video posted on the NFL on Fox X account captured the special moment when Barkley’s six-year-old daughter, Jada, and his son, two-year-old Saquon Jr., approached him on the sidelines. Jada initiated their playful handshake, which included cheek kisses and a peace sign, illustrating their strong bond.

Barkley crouched down to share an affectionate hug with Jada, who was donned in a white puffer coat layered over an Eagles sweatshirt. In a sweet exchange, she enthusiastically exclaimed, “Love you, daddy!”

While the handshake with Saquon Jr. was less elaborate, Barkley affectionately brought his face close to his son’s and shared a kiss with his girlfriend, Anna Congdon, further emphasizing his dedication to family.

The sentimental interactions seemed to bring good fortune, as the Eagles achieved a remarkable victory over the Commanders, winning the game 55-23. According to ESPN, Barkley’s impressive performance included a 60-yard touchdown during the team’s first play, contributing significantly to the team’s overall success.

Throughout the game, he accumulated 118 rushing yards, scoring three rushing touchdowns. This achievement tied him for the most rushing touchdowns in a playoff game in NFL history, as noted by ESPN Research.

Following the game, Barkley was seen celebrating with his family, joyfully rolling around on the confetti-laden field with Jada. Reflecting on the experience, Barkley expressed his excitement in an interview with Fox’s Erin Andrews, admitting, “I ain’t gonna lie. I tried to downplay it in my head, but it’s amazing, man. We’re here. Super Bowl.” He emphasized, however, that their journey was not just about reaching the Super Bowl but also about aiming for victory.

Barkley’s devotion to his family has been evident throughout his career. Just six months after Jada’s birth, she made her debut on the field during a New York Giants game, carried by Congdon in a papoose. The couple has been together since their college days nearly a decade ago. Barkley credits his children as a source of inspiration in his football journey, revealing in a 2019 interview with NJ Advance Media that they influence all his decisions.

He stated, “Obviously, I do it for myself because I love the game, I love competing, and I want to go down as one of the best in NFL history. But I go out there and sacrifice my body every single day for my daughter.” Barkley emphasized that his pursuit for success extends beyond the football field, stating that every decision he makes, from business to marketing, reflects his commitment to his family.
