Hulu has announced its list of 15 actors from The Handmaid’s Tale who will be submitted for consideration at this year’s Emmy Awards, according to insights gathered by Gold Derby.
This critically acclaimed series, adapted from Margaret Atwood‘s seminal 1985 novel, has garnered a remarkable total of 76 nominations and won 15 awards throughout its five-season run.
Once again, two-time Emmy recipient Elisabeth Moss will be nominated for her leading role as June Osborne, entering the final chapter of this iconic series.
The Best Drama Supporting Actor category will feature six male cast members, including Bradley Whitford, O-T Fagbenle, Sam Jaeger, Max Minghella, Timothy Simons, and Josh Charles.
For the Best Drama Supporting Actress category, Hulu has put forth Madeline Brewer, Amanda Brugel, Ever Carradine, Ann Dowd, Yvonne Strahovski, and Samira Wiley.
Additionally, D’Arcy Carden and Cherry Jones will be contenders for Best Guest Actress. Carden has a prior Emmy nomination for her role in The Good Place, while Jones is a three-time Emmy winner, recognized for her work in 24, Succession, and The Handmaid’s Tale.
The show’s debut season, which aired in 2017, made a significant impact at the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards, winning accolades for Outstanding Drama Series, directing, writing, lead actress (Moss), supporting actress (Dowd), and guest actress (Alexis Bledel), along with awards for cinematography and production design. Subsequent seasons continued to earn recognition, with guest acting awards presented to Wiley, Jones, and Whitford.
