Elisabeth Moss and Yvonne Strahovski Share Insights at PaleyFest L.A.
At PaleyFest L.A. 2025, Elisabeth Moss graced the red carpet, celebrating the much-anticipated sixth and final season of “The Handmaid’s Tale.” The event brought excitement as fans eagerly awaited the conclusion of the series.
In an interview with “Extra,” Moss discussed her character June’s transformation, pondering whether she is finally enacting her long-awaited vengeance. Moss conveyed a sense of assurance, stating, “Yeah, I think she does. We’ve definitely promised a revolution… That revolution is here.” This remark hints at a climactic turn of events that fans have been speculating about throughout the series.
While Moss remained tight-lipped about the finale’s specifics, she expressed a deep emotional connection to the conclusion, saying, “I really feel like it’s from our heart, the finale, so I hope that people feel that.” Her dedication to delivering a heartfelt ending reflects the show’s longstanding connection with its audience.
In addition to her acting role, Moss is also stepping into the production realm with “The Handmaid’s Tale” sequel, “The Testaments.” However, she recently indicated that her involvement in front of the camera for this new project is unlikely, quipping, “I don’t plan to appear, just produce. Although, if I was going to appear, I definitely would lie to you.” This playful honesty seems to reflect her commitment to the story’s progression beyond her character’s arc.
Moss labeled the final season a “love letter” to the fans, elaborating on her sentiment: “We love the show and we understand what fans love about it and we’ve tried to, I think, not serve them completely but make sure that they feel that we get them.” This acknowledgment of the fanbase emphasizes the communal experience of following the series over the years.
Yvonne Strahovski, Moss’s co-star, also shared her insights regarding her character Serena. In her conversation with “Extra,” she noted, “I think this is the most raw we’ve seen Serena, and we’ve seen a lot of raw, but I think this is even more raw… Perhaps, you know, if there was ever a chance for her to be a little bit more redeemable, this might be it.” Strahovski’s reflections suggest an intriguing character development that could pivot the audience’s perceptions of Serena.
As the series approaches its conclusion, Strahovski remarked on the emotional impact of saying farewell to her role, admitting that it’s “devastating” to part ways with Serena. She stated, “It’s really unexpectedly a lot of grief, I think, to part with Serena, particularly her.” Her willingness to explore the emotional layers of her character adds depth to the conversation around the series’ finale.
Recalling her last day on set, Strahovski described the bittersweet experience as “weird,” noting that it felt “anticlimactic after all these years, but here we are.” This sentiment resonates with many series cast members who experience mixed emotions as iconic roles come to an end.
Strahovski even shared a quirky token she took from the set: “I took my finger. Serena’s leather finger.” This unique memento serves as a tangible reminder of her time on the show, encapsulating the journey of both her character and the series itself.
Fans can look forward to the premiere of “The Handmaid’s Tale” Season 6 on April 6, exclusively on Hulu, as the series promises to deliver a powerful conclusion to a narrative that has captivated audiences worldwide.
