Elon Musk has announced his intention to reduce his involvement with the Department of Government Efficiency, commonly referred to as DOGE, starting in May. This decision was shared during a recent earnings call for Tesla, where Musk indicated that while he will still dedicate a couple of days weekly to DOGE-related matters, the majority of his focus will shift back to his electric vehicle company.
“Next month marks a turning point where I will be investing significantly more time into Tesla, especially now that the foundational work of establishing DOGE is largely completed,” Musk stated.
His position as the head of DOGE has faced growing scrutiny, particularly from Tesla shareholders who are urging him to prioritize the company amid a noticeable downturn in sales. The pressure on Musk to redirect his focus comes as Tesla navigates challenges in the market.
Previously, Musk served as a special advisor to the Trump administration, a role that was subject to time constraints, limiting his tenure to just 130 days. Recent speculation has suggested that he may leave the White House as reports indicate his influence appears to be diminishing, as noted by The Washington Post.
