Eoptolink Launches Advanced 1.6T OSFP Transceivers for High Bandwidth Networks

CHENGDU, China, Sept. 20, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Eoptolink Technology Inc., Ltd. (SZSE: 300502), a prominent player in the optical transceiver market, has unveiled its latest products: the OSFP 1.6T DR8/DR8-2 and 2xFR4 transceivers. These innovations are poised to significantly enhance bandwidth capabilities for artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) applications across cloud data centers.

The newly released 1.6T OSFP transceivers are equipped with eight electrical host interfacing lanes and an equal number of optical lanes, each capable of operating at a rate of 212.5 Gb/s (106GB with PAM4). Leveraging cutting-edge digital signal processing (DSP) technology, these solutions offer transmission distances of up to 2 kilometers without requiring regeneration of Forward Error Correction (FEC). The DR8 and DR8-2 models are available with a single MPO-16 adapter for point-to-point (P2P) connections or with dual MPO-12 adapters designed for 2x800G breakout operations. Meanwhile, the 2xFR4 variants utilize a dual duplex LC connector, allowing efficient use of fiber resources, which is a significant advantage over the DR8 and DR8-2 modules.

Product Specifications

The comprehensive portfolio of Eoptolink’s 1.6T transceivers includes:

  • EOLO-13T-5H-XMX: OSFP 1.6T DR8, 1×1.6TbE, 500m, MPO-16
  • EOLO-13T-5H-XDX: OSFP 1.6T DR8, 2x800GbE, 500m, Dual MPO-12
  • EOLO-13T-02-XMX: OSFP 1.6T DR8-2, 1×1.6TbE, 2km, MPO-16
  • EOLO-13T-02-XDX: OSFP 1.6T DR8-2, 2x800GbE, 2km, Dual MPO-12
  • EOLO-16T-02-XXX: OSFP 1.6T 2FR4, 2x800GbE, 2km, Dual Duplex LC

Strategic Importance of Recent Advances

With the introduction of these modules, Eoptolink emphasizes its commitment to innovation in design, citing invigorating contributions from both its optical and radio frequency (RF) design teams. Sean Davies, Vice President of Sales at Eoptolink, expressed pride in the advancements made in their 1.6T OSFP modules, particularly noting their efficiency. “By not requiring an additional FEC on the optical side, we achieve lower latency and reduced power consumption, thus streamlining the overall system. This is particularly beneficial for our clients in AI and cloud computing,” he stated.
