Erin Foster Considers Guest Appearance on “Nobody Wants This”
Erin Foster, co-creator of the Netflix series “Nobody Wants This,” has expressed interest in potentially guest starring in an upcoming episode. During an interview at the 2025 Fashion Scholarship Fund Gala, she discussed the idea with People, mentioning she has yet to develop a character that fits seamlessly into the show.
“I always thought that it’d be fun to do that, but I never created a character that I thought was the perfect character,” Erin noted. The conversation took a playful turn when her sister, Sara, who also serves as the show’s executive producer, joked about potentially replacing the main characters in a future season.
“Maybe season 3, [sisters] Morgan [Justine Lupe] and Joanne [Kristen Bell] go on sabbatical and then it’s us,” Sara proposed. Erin humorously responded, “Oh, we just replace them.” This light-hearted exchange highlights the familial bond behind the show’s creation.
Inspired by her own experiences, Erin’s series delves into the romantic journey of rabbi Noah (portrayed by Adam Brody) and agnostic podcaster Joanne (played by Kristen Bell) as they navigate the complexities of love amidst differing backgrounds in religion and culture. Erin’s personal life greatly influenced the narrative, especially after her marriage to Simon Tikhman in 2019, which followed her conversion to Judaism.
The show’s popularity led Netflix to renew “Nobody Wants This” for a second season in October 2024. Jenni Konner, an executive producer associated with the project, praised Erin’s creative vision, stating, “It’s a dream to be working on ‘Nobody Wants This.’ Erin is the rare creator with a crystal clear voice and a genuinely collaborative spirit. I am a true fan of Erin’s show and also feel so lucky to be back in a room with two of my favorites, Bruce Kaplan and Sarah Heyward from ‘Girls.’”
