Complete Cast Announced for Encores! Wonderful Town

The full ensemble has been unveiled for Encores! Wonderful Town. Joining Aisha Jackson and Tony Award winner Anika Noni Rose in the roles of sisters Eileen and Ruth are a talented group of performers. Notable cast members include Jimmy Ray Bennett as Officer Lonigan, Etai Benson portraying Frank Lippencott, and Allison Blackwell as Mrs. Wade. Other cast members comprise DeWitt Fleming Jr. as Speedy Valenti, Jessie Hooker-Bailey in the role of Helen, Javier Muñoz as Robert Baker, Fergie Phillippe as Wreck, John Rapson as Chick Clark, and Daniel Torres as Mr. Appopolous.

About Wonderful Town

Set in 1935, Wonderful Town tells the story of sisters Ruth, who dreams of becoming a writer, and Eileen, who aspires to be an actress. The pair relocates from Ohio to Greenwich Village in pursuit of their artistic goals, navigating heartbreak and encountering a vibrant array of characters along the way. Ultimately, they discover love amid their adventures. The musical features beloved songs such as “Ohio” and “One Hundred Easy Ways to Lose a Man,” encapsulating the essence of New York City as a melting pot where individuals flock to realize their aspirations.

A Historic Connection to New York City

This production of Wonderful Town has a rich history with New York City Center, having been staged earlier in 1958, 1963, 1966, and most notably in a 2000 Encores! version that transitioned to Broadway in 2003. Each of these productions has contributed to the show’s lasting legacy, celebrating the artistic spirit and diversity that define New York.
