Nothing is poised to introduce a series of new smartphones, including a flagship model, as a successor to the Nothing Phone 2 in the upcoming months. The UK-based original equipment manufacturer (OEM) has leveraged its social media presence to generate excitement, hinting at a potential new product that may soon hit the market. This upcoming smartphone is expected to feature a dual rear camera setup and, consistent with the brand’s identity, a transparent design that has become a hallmark of its aesthetic.
Teasing a New Smartphone
The company has shared a series of design sketches via posts on X (formerly known as Twitter), along with the acronym “WIP,” typically denoting “work in progress.” One of the sketches prominently features a smartphone design that boasts a transparent back panel, characterized by visible screws.
Another design illustration exhibits two circles arranged in a pill-shaped structure, reminiscent of the dual camera unit found in the Nothing Phone 2a models. This indicates that the device may include a similar rear camera configuration. However, the absence of the complete rear cover leaves some ambiguity regarding whether this model will incorporate the distinctive Glyph interface that the brand is known for.
This teaser follows closely on the heels of a previous promotion that utilized the image of the Arcanine Pokémon. While no explicit description accompanied this image, speculation suggests it could symbolize the upcoming Nothing Phone 3, supporting earlier reports that indicated this device might be referred to as Arcanine.
Furthermore, a recently leaked email attributed to Nothing CEO Carl Pei outlined ambitious plans for 2025, which include what has been described as a “landmark” product launch. The email also confirmed the name of the company’s next flagship model, the Nothing Phone 3, which is anticipated to debut in the first quarter of 2025 as a successor to the Nothing Phone 2. This new smartphone is projected to be pioneering for its incorporation of an AI-powered platform, made possible through innovative advancements in user interface technology.
