Experience the excitement of rehearsals for “Real Women Have Curves” on Broadway, featuring a talented cast that includes Tatianna Córdoba, Florencia Cuenca, Justina Machado, Mason Reeves, and others! As the team prepares for their Broadway debut, they have shared a glimpse of new musical numbers, including “Make It Work,” “Already Know You,” and more, accompanied by videos showcasing full rehearsal performances.
The musical is helmed by celebrated director and choreographer Sergio Trujillo, a Tony and Olivier Award winner. It boasts music and lyrics from Grammy Award-winning artist Joy Huerta and composer/lyricist Benjamin Velez, alongside a book crafted by Lisa Loomer and Nell Benjamin. Music supervision is under the skilled hands of Nadia DiGiallonardo. “Real Women Have Curves: The Musical” is set to commence performances on April 1 at the James Earl Jones Theatre, with an official opening night planned for April 27.
In “Real Women Have Curves: The Musical,” Tatianna Córdoba portrays Ana, a determined high school senior, in her Broadway debut. Justina Machado, known for her roles in “One Day at a Time” and “Pulse,” plays Carmen, Ana’s diligent mother with traditional expectations for her daughter. Florencia Cuenca also makes her Broadway debut as Estela, while the cast includes Shelby Acosta, Carla Jimenez, Aline Mayagoitia, Mauricio Mendoza, Mason Reeves, Jennifer Sánchez, Sandra Valls, and a supporting ensemble comprising Ariana Burks, Quincy Hampton, Zeus Mendoza, and more.

“Real Women Have Curves: The Musical” promises to deliver humor, joy, and empowerment. The story follows Ana Garcia, who aspires to escape East Los Angeles, but faces the challenge of helping her family fulfill a crucial order of 200 dresses. This conflict forces her to balance her own dreams with her mother’s desires and the collective struggles of a community of women determined to find success against the odds. The musical is inspired by the play written by Josefina López that led to the acclaimed film adaptation.
