Austin Metcalf H.S. Track Meet Stab Victim Family Home Swatted

Authorities have reported that the home of Austin Metcalf, a teenager tragically killed in a stabbing incident at a track meet earlier this month, was the target of a swatting incident on Thursday in Frisco, Texas.
According to the Frisco Police Department, police units responded swiftly to a call claiming that a gunshot had been fired at the Metcalf residence. However, upon arrival, officers quickly identified the call as a hoax designed to disrupt the family.
An official from the FPD mentioned that upon investigating, the police determined the report was unfounded, and after confirming the situation was safe, left the scene without incident.
Jeff Metcalf, Austin’s father, spoke to TMZ Sports about the incident, noting it took place around 6 PM while he was attending a physical therapy session for a shoulder injury he had sustained earlier in the year.
Jeff recounted that his son’s twin brother, Hunter, was the one to inform him of police inquiries regarding their home. When Jeff contacted 911, officers indicated they were responding to what was believed to be an emergency at their address. After granting them access, approximately 20 officers conducted a thorough search of the property yet found nothing amiss.
This unsettling event unfolded just hours after Jeff had generated a significant disruption during a press conference in Dallas that involved the family of Karmelo Anthony, a 17-year-old who has been charged with Austin’s murder.
Jeff attended the Next Generation Action Network event without an invitation and positioned himself among media members, which led to a standoff with law enforcement when he was asked to leave. Ultimately, he complied with their request.
During the press conference, Dominique Alexander, president of NGAN, criticized Jeff’s presence as being “inappropriate” and disrespectful to the dignity of his son in light of the ongoing legal situation.
Karmelo, who was released on bond earlier that week, did not attend the press conference. However, his mother was present, making an emotional appeal for an end to the threats and harassment directed at her family as they navigate the complexities of Karmelo’s legal proceedings.
