This year marked a significant return for Fardeen Khan with his role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-anticipated series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. In this Netflix production, Khan portrayed Nawab Wali Mohammed, capturing the audience’s attention with his authentic representation of the character. Recently, Khan shared a behind-the-scenes video from the set that highlights the meticulous preparation required to embody his role.
The video showcases a dedicated team of hair and makeup artists working diligently to transform Khan into the regal Nawab. Every detail, from his hairstyle to the application of kohl and a carefully crafted fake moustache, was executed flawlessly, enhancing his royal appearance. At the end of the clip, viewers got a sneak peek at Khan’s finalized look, with the actor aptly noting his transformation as he captioned the post, “Metamorphosing into Wali Bin Zayed Al Mohammed.”
Not only did fans appreciate the transformation, but Khan’s co-star, the talented Manisha Koirala, expressed her admiration in the comments, sharing clapping emojis to celebrate his work.
Heeramandi premiered on Netflix on May 1 and features a stellar cast that includes Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Shekhar Suman, Taha Shah Badussha, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Sharmin Segal. Set against the backdrop of pre-Independence India, the series delves into the lives of courtesans and their significant roles in the Indian freedom struggle.
Building on the momentum from Heeramandi, Fardeen Khan is set to appear in the upcoming film Khel Khel Mein. This comedy-drama pairs him with Akshay Kumar, marking their reunion nearly 15 years after their collaboration in the 2007 film Heyy Babyy. The new project also features a talented ensemble cast, including Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal.
Recently, promotional posters for Khel Khel Mein were released, showcasing the cast in a lighthearted moment. Akshay Kumar shared the posters on Instagram, playfully introducing the film as a “biggest family entertainer of the year,” with a release date set for August 15, 2024. This promises to add to the cinematic landscape of 2024, as Fardeen Khan gears up for a busy year ahead.
