Shibani Dandekar compares therapy to physical fitness, emphasizing its importance in relationships.
Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar exchanged vows in February 2022 after a three-year relationship. Recently, they shared insights about their journey during an appearance on Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast, revealing that they began attending couples therapy shortly after their engagement and maintained that commitment just two days following their wedding.
Shibani explained, “We started couples therapy about six months before or after our engagement. It wasn’t a situation where one person was persuading the other; it felt like a prudent decision for us.”
In a lighthearted moment, the actress recalled how they attended a therapy session shortly after their marriage. “We got married on a Monday, and our next therapy appointment was that Wednesday. I remember our therapist asking, ‘Why are you both here? You just got married 24 hours ago!’” she shared with a smile.
She further elaborated on the nature of their sessions, highlighting, “It’s similar to working out at the gym—you have to consistently engage with it. Some days we go in with nothing to discuss, while other times, we realize we need more than an hour just to unpack everything.”
Shibani also mentioned how they manage conflicts leading up to therapy days, stating, “There are moments when we might have an argument at home, and knowing we have therapy coming up, we decide to hold off on it. I often want to address the issue immediately, but he suggests we wait until our session on Wednesday.”
On the career front, Farhan Akhtar is set to appear in the film “120 Bahadur,” where he will portray PVC Major Shaitan Singh. Additionally, he is directing “Don 3,” featuring stars Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani. Moreover, he has plans to create “Jee Le Zara,” starring Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Katrina Kaif.
