Authorities report that a tragic accident in Toronto’s east end has resulted in the death of one individual. The incident occurred early Friday at approximately 12:25 a.m., when a vehicle collided with a pole located at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue East and Brimley Road.
According to the Toronto Police Service, the impact ignited a fire within the vehicle, leaving the driver, who was the sole occupant, trapped inside. Emergency responders were called to the scene, but unfortunately, the driver was pronounced dead at the location of the accident.
The intersection remains closed as investigators continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the collision. Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information to come forward and assist with the investigation.
