Billy Ray Cyrus, at the age of 63, is sharing insights into his budding relationship with actress Elizabeth Hurley, who is 59, highlighting a unique reconnection that took place after their initial meeting a few years back.
In a recent appearance on Apple Music Country’s “The Ty Bentil Show,” Cyrus reflected on their collaboration for the film “Christmas in Paradise,” released in 2022. An excerpt from this conversation was featured in People magazine.
During the show, he noted, “Although we shared only a few scenes together, there was an undeniable chemistry. We found ourselves laughing, especially during a period when laughter was scarce in my life.”
Cyrus further reflected on their differences, admitting, “At first, I thought we were from completely different worlds, but I soon discovered that we actually have more in common than I had assumed.”
However, after the film project concluded, they lost touch for two years, and Cyrus encountered a challenging phase in his life. “I often wondered if things could get any more difficult,” he expressed, encapsulating a feeling of despair.
It was during this tough period that a friend reached out to him, coincidentally rekindling his connection with Hurley.
Receiving a text from an unknown number, he was greeted with the message, “Hey, it looks like life might be a bit challenging, but I want you to know I’m here for you.”
Billy Ray recalled his surprise at discovering that the sender was none other than Elizabeth Hurley. “Of all the people who could have reached out to me, it was her — a friend who brought joy back into my life during a dark time,” he remarked.
He praised Hurley as a “great human,” drawing a parallel to the iconic Dolly Parton, emphasizing that she is not just a talented actress but also a strategic businesswoman. “If you can share laughter, then you can endure anything together,” he concluded.
Fans were taken aback when the pair made their relationship Instagram official, posting a picture where Cyrus affectionately kissed Hurley on the cheek. He humorously announced that followers should look forward to future kissing photos, suggesting a growing affectionate rapport.
“There will be one where she’s kissing me,” he stated, adding that he couldn’t help but kiss her cheek whenever she offered it. “It’s been a beautiful experience, with no specific expectations for what may come next. I truly cherish being around her and her son, both of whom have brought joy into my life at a crucial time.”
This renewed happiness marks a significant shift for Cyrus, who previously experienced marriage to Firerose from October 2023 until their divorce in May 2024. Prior to that, he had a long marriage with Tish Cyrus, which lasted 30 years before their own divorce was finalized in 2022.
Elizabeth Hurley also has her own marital history, having been married to businessman Arun Nayar from 2007 to 2011.
