Emergency services responded to a fire incident in a laundry room at Luton Town Football Club, which will not impact their upcoming match against Coventry City this Saturday.
Social media reports showed firefighters confronting thick black smoke emanating from within the Kenilworth Road stadium.
The Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service received the alert at 20:08 BST, and the blaze was extinguished in under two hours.
Fire crews remained on-site, resulting in a complete road closure on Hatters Way.
The club reported that the source of the smoke was a small appliance that caught fire in the laundry area. Fortunately, the fire was contained quickly, minimizing potential damage.
Firefighters utilized breathing apparatus and an aerial platform, along with a 9m (30ft) ladder and two hose reels during their operation.
Luton Town is set to host Coventry City at 12:30 BST for a crucial fixture impacting both ends of the Championship table.
The club confirmed that the match will proceed as scheduled.
Luton Town has been playing at Kenilworth Road, affectionately known as The Kenny by fans, since 1905. The stadium has a current seating capacity of approximately 12,000.
