British Airways Flight Diverts to Boston Due to Bird Strike
A British Airways flight was forced to divert following reports of smoke and a potential bird strike. The incident involved BA Flight 216, which was en route from Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C., to Heathrow Airport in London on Saturday, April 26.
The Boeing 777 successfully landed at Boston Logan International Airport at approximately 7:30 p.m. local time after the flight crew alerted authorities about the possibility of a bird strike and reported fumes in the cabin, as stated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
In a statement to the press, British Airways underscored its commitment to passenger safety. “The flight landed safely after diverting to Boston as a precaution following a suspected bird strike,” the airline announced.
