Authorities Seek Suspect in Robbery of Elderly Woman in Orlando
Florida law enforcement is currently in pursuit of a man captured on surveillance footage engaging in a violent robbery of an elderly woman outside a convenience store in Orlando on Wednesday morning.
The incident, reported by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, unfolded outside a store located on Curry Ford Road near S. Goldenrod Road.
In the video released to the public, an 83-year-old woman, who has not been identified, can be seen exiting the store while holding her recent lottery winnings. According to FOX 35 Orlando, the woman had just won $200.
Details of the Incident
The suspect, identified as Diego Stalin Tavarez Fleury, approached the woman in a red jacket as she attempted to enter her vehicle. He reached for her winnings, initiating a verbal confrontation.
In an act of assistance, another man exited the store and urged Fleury to leave the elderly woman alone. Despite the interference, Fleury persisted in his attempt to seize the money, dragging the woman along the parking lot as she clutched onto her winnings.
