Food & Wine Classic Returns to Charleston for a Second Year
For culinary enthusiasts in the South, an exciting opportunity awaits as the Food & Wine Classic is set to return to Charleston from November 14-16. Building on the success of its inaugural event last year, this festival promises to engage the senses with a variety of delectable experiences. Organized in collaboration with Food & Wine, Southern Living, and Travel + Leisure, the event will once again be presented by Explore Charleston.
The Food & Wine Classic has a long-standing tradition in Aspen, where it has garnered a loyal following over many years. This expansion into Charleston last year signaled a growing recognition of the region’s vibrant culinary scene, and the 2024 edition aims to further enhance that reputation.
“We’re thrilled to make our return to Charleston for another remarkable weekend filled with world-class culinary arts,” stated Hunter Lewis, editor-in-chief of Food & Wine. “The city’s rich gastronomic heritage, stunning natural beauty, and the warmth of Southern hospitality create a unique setting. Together with our partners at Southern Living and T+L, we are eager to showcase this dynamic culinary hub and unite our dedicated community to celebrate and enjoy all that this lively city has to offer.”
The festival will span three action-packed days featuring an array of activities, including cooking demonstrations and seminars focused on wine and cocktails. Guests can look forward to tastings with high-profile culinary personalities such as Maneet Chauhan, Julia Coney, Tyler Florence, and Emeril Lagasse, among others. More participants are expected to be announced in the coming months, ensuring a diverse and exciting lineup.
A highlight of the event is the renowned Grand Tasting, where attendees can sample a plethora of offerings from international winemakers and distillers. In addition, Southern Living will host the Lowcountry Tailgate, offering traditional Southern fare, including BBQ by Hector Garate and culinary delights from Emeril Lagasse and E.J. Lagasse.
To gain a deeper appreciation of Charleston’s local culture, T+L’s editor-in-chief, Jacqui Gifford, will curate informative tours throughout the city.
For those interested in attending, tickets will be available for purchase starting May 15 at noon ET. Visit foodandwineclassicincharleston.com for more information and ticket details.
