Closure of Forgery Case Against Shweta Tiwari
The Bombay High Court has been informed by the Mumbai police that the forgery case involving actress Shweta Tiwari has been officially closed. This case was initiated by her former husband, Abhinav Kohli, in 2021.
Details of the Case
According to a report by the Free Press Journal, police representatives communicated to a bench of Justices Sarang Kotwal and Neela Gokhale that an ‘A’ Summary report was filed on December 17, 2024. This classification indicates that while the police had reason to believe the allegations were credible, they could not substantiate them with adequate evidence.
With the closing of this case, the court granted Tiwari permission to withdraw her petition, which sought to nullify the FIR against her. The court remarked, “In view of this position, the Petition is allowed to be withdrawn. However, it is made clear that both the parties would be at liberty to take out appropriate legal proceedings in accordance with law if an order, adverse to either of the parties, is passed.”
Allegations Made by Abhinav Kohli
The background of the forgery complaints dates back to March 2021, when Kohli lodged a complaint with the BKC police. He accused Tiwari of forging his signature on a No Objection Certificate (NOC) that was necessary for obtaining a United Kingdom visa for their son, Reyansh. Following this complaint, Kohli reached out to the UK embassy in India, resulting in the cancellation of the visa application.
Personal Background
Shweta Tiwari and Abhinav Kohli married but separated in 2019. Their son Reyansh currently resides with Tiwari. Prior to her marriage to Kohli, Tiwari was wed to Bhojpuri actor Raja Chaudhary, with whom she shares a daughter named Palak Tiwari. The couple divorced in 2007.
In her professional life, Shweta Tiwari gained massive popularity through her role in the well-loved television series Kasautii Zindagii Kay. Her extensive acting career includes notable performances in shows such as Hum Tum and Them, Main Hoon Aparajita, Mere Dad Ki Dulhan, Indian Police Force, Parvarrish – Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi, and Begusarai. Recently, she portrayed an intelligence officer in Ajay Devgn’s film Singham Again.
