The parent company of BTS, HYBE, has been facing internal challenges with its subsidiary, ADOR. This situation escalated when reports surfaced indicating that former CEO Min Hee Jin was pursuing independent management rights for her label and the popular girl group NewJeans. Amid the ongoing differences, Min Hee Jin took the opportunity to highlight the support she received from BTS member Kim Taehyung, known as V, during a recent media appearance.
On October 29, Min Hee Jin participated in a discussion on the YouTube channel School of Music, hosted by Kim Young Dae, where she discussed the encouragement she received from Taehyung during her difficult times. She humorously remarked on his frequent outreach, questioning if he was truly engaged with military duties given how often he checks in on her.
Reflecting on her exchanges with V, Min Hee Jin shared, “V occasionally calls me from the military. Sometimes I find myself wondering if he’s genuinely serving. He’s such a bright and cheerful individual. We speak informally, and he often checks in with, ‘Are you doing okay?’” She further expressed her gratitude for his thoughtful birthday message, which left a significant impact on her. “He’s incredibly warm-hearted and kind, which really moved me,” she noted.
Moreover, Min Hee Jin mentioned that V was concerned about her transparency regarding their conversations. She revealed that he inquired if it was appropriate for her to speak so openly. However, she reassured him, saying that she had been “actually holding back a lot in those moments.”
In a related development, the Seoul Central District Court has rejected Min Hee Jin’s plea to regain her position as CEO of ADOR. Following the court’s ruling, HYBE expressed gratitude for the court’s decision, referring to it as a “wise judgement.” They emphasized their commitment to stabilizing operations within ADOR while ensuring the well-being of the artists represented by the label. On the other hand, representatives for Min Hee Jin indicated their dissent and suggested they may pursue further legal avenues to reinstate her role.
On another note, Kim Taehyung, also known as V, commenced his mandatory military service in December of the previous year and is expected to complete his service by June of the coming year.
