Kim Delaney, the actress renowned for her role in the police drama “NYPD Blue,” is currently facing real-life legal troubles after being involved in a domestic incident that led to her arrest last Saturday.
The incident unfolded around 10 AM at Delaney’s residence in Los Angeles, when law enforcement responded to reports of a domestic disturbance between her and her partner, James Morgan.
Sources indicate that a physical argument erupted between the couple, prompting paramedics to attend the scene to assess potential injuries. After both individuals were cleared by medical personnel, they were taken into custody.
Delaney now faces charges of felony assault that could lead to significant bodily harm, while Morgan has been charged with misdemeanor domestic violence.
This turn of events is particularly striking for Delaney, whose most recognized character, Detective Diane Russell, has its roots in a world of law enforcement. The role earned her an Emmy Award in 1997 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
In addition to “NYPD Blue,” Delaney has appeared in various other television shows, including “CSI Miami,” “Philly,” and “Army Wives,” along with a notable stint on the daytime soap opera, “All My Children.”
This incident marks another encounter with the legal system for Delaney. In 2002, she was arrested for driving under the influence in Malibu, and last year, she was involved in a legal dispute with a motorcyclist who alleged that she fled the scene of an accident in Los Angeles.
