Community Mourning the Loss of Brian McKenna
ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis community is in mourning following the tragic death of Brian McKenna, a beloved former sportscaster, who was involved in a pedestrian accident early Saturday morning.
McKenna, a familiar voice as a radio host on KFNS 590 The Fan, was a prominent figure in the St. Louis Hills neighborhood. He passed away at age 61.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Hampton and Nottingham avenues. Preliminary details indicate that McKenna was crossing the street when he was struck by a vehicle heading south on Hampton.
Emergency responders pronounced McKenna dead at the scene. Authorities have noted that the driver involved in the incident remained present and is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.
