Fortnite Embraces Heist Theme in Chapter 6: Season 2
Fortnite has launched its latest season, Chapter 6: Season 2, under the intriguing title “Lawless.” This new update reintroduces a heist motif, inviting players to engage in a variety of criminal activities across the game’s vibrant island. These activities range from breaking into secure bank vaults and robbing armored vehicles to orchestrating spectacular train heists. Adding to the season’s eccentricity is a rapping giant pickle named Big Dill.
Following a season infused with Japanese culture, the “Lawless” chapter appears to draw inspiration from popular titles such as Grand Theft Auto. Beyond heists, players can explore several new locations, including a gritty setting called Crime City. Notable features include swimming in magical gold-infused water that grants temporary superpowers, a fictional cryptocurrency for purchasing gear that refreshes after each match, specialized black markets for acquiring advanced weaponry, and a scanner for enemy detection. Additionally, players may encounter a mob boss unexpectedly during heists. Further enhancing gameplay, participants can now select a personal victory song for their character, reminiscent of professional wrestling entrances.
The strategic layout of the new season’s map offers fresh opportunities for players to dive into these diverse activities.
Players who opt for the current season’s battle pass will encounter a lineup of themed characters, including an array of criminals, Big Dill, and surprisingly, Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat. Additionally, fans of Cowboy Bebop can look forward to themed quests beginning March 1st, with character skins for Spike Spiegel and Faye Valentine set to debut in the item shop on February 28th.
