This unforgettable performance occurred in Frankfurt on March 31, during Vandal’s rendition of her new single, “Cruising to Self Soothe.” The crowd erupted in excitement when Durst made an unexpected appearance to join her on stage.
“Make some noise for Fred Durst!” Vandal exclaimed, expressing her excitement with the words, “What a f—ing honor!” She later shared a clip from this thrilling moment on Instagram, captioning it: “Cruising with Fred Durst.” Durst responded with ample enthusiasm, posting a smiling emoji accompanied by several fire emojis.
Durst, an admirer of the genre-blurring artist, previously lauded Vandal’s new single as “legendary.” Released in late February, “Cruising to Self Soothe” marks Vandal’s first major release of 2025 and follows her recent tour support for IDLES. The song carries a powerful message about personal strength and liberation amidst feelings of isolation.
“This track reflects the importance of cultivating inner strength while navigating solitude, even when it becomes challenging,” she stated. “It captures that significant moment when you realize your strength is bolstered without those who bring you down.”
Vandal further emphasized, “Even in the face of those anticipating your demise, you continue to rise — stronger than ever.”
The Loserville tour, which features supporting acts such as Karen Díó, Bones, N8NOFACE, and Riff Raff, concludes tonight at the Accor Arena in Paris. Throughout the tour, Vandal has captured audience attention with her dynamic stage presence, bringing her unique energy to new fans.
After a four-year hiatus from solo music releases, Vandal made her return in 2024 and 2025, presenting new tracks and continuing collaborations with notable artists like Birdz, Illy, DZ Deathrays, and Void of Vision. Her debut self-titled album was released in 2017.
