Last night, the synergy of culinary excellence and design creativity came alive during an elegant dinner co-hosted by OpenTable at Le B, a stunning venue in the West Village, created by chef and restaurateur Angie Mar. Known for her acclaimed establishments like The Beatrice Inn and the more recent Les Trois Chevaux, Mar’s involvement ensured a delightful gastronomic experience.

As guests arrived around 6 PM, they included notable personalities such as renowned ballet dancer Misty Copeland, actor Bailey Bass, and Vogue contributors Leah Faye-Cooper and Jose Criales-Unzueta. The ambiance was heightened by the striking decor, featuring luxuriously draped curtains that added a dramatic flair. Many attendees showcased a keen sense of style, attired in exquisite fabrics like velvet and duchess satin, while some embraced a more casual look with signature bomber jackets.

The evening commenced with a one-hour cocktail reception, where guests indulged in Mar’s signature fried chicken legs served in elegant crystal bowls, setting the tone for a delightful night. Following the cocktail hour, Debby Soo, CEO of OpenTable, welcomed the attendees with lighthearted remarks. “If you like this dress, it’s too bad because I bought the last one at Neiman Marcus!” she joked, immediately warming the atmosphere.

Angie Mar shared her enthusiasm for the evening, expressing her love for “beautiful things, beautiful artwork, and incredibly creative people.” Highlighting her collaboration with Bach Mai, she added, “When I met Bach, his designs resonated with me, and I knew I had to incorporate him into my world.” With that, she gracefully excused herself to return to the kitchen, humorously noting that “the food does not cook itself!”

As guests settled down for the main course, they savored signature dishes from Le B, which included options like salmon filet and roast duckling flambéed with cherries. After the meal, Bach Mai took a moment to express his gratitude to the attendees. “So many of you have been there since the first collection; it’s been just a little over two and a half years—the longest and shortest, two and a half years of my life!—since the first launch, and I really wanted to bring everyone together for a beautiful evening,” he shared, reflecting on the journey of his brand.

This gathering was not just a dinner but a celebration of the fusion of culinary artistry and innovative design, showcasing the close-knit community of creative individuals who inspire and elevate each other’s work.
