Samsung Accelerates One UI 7 Rollout for Galaxy Devices

Samsung has commenced the rollout of One UI 7 updates for its eligible Galaxy devices, with models such as the Galaxy S21, Z Fold 3, and Z Flip 3 expected to begin receiving updates this May. Notably, these updates have already launched in South Korea, set to expand to other regions shortly.

The journey to this point has not been without its challenges. The debut of Android 15 last year lacked significant momentum, and Samsung faced delays in starting its One UI 7 beta program. Once the beta phase concluded, the company encountered further obstacles, necessitating a pause in its initial rollout shortly after it commenced. However, recent developments have shown a positive shift as Samsung swiftly moves forward with updates for its devices.

Recent reports indicate that Samsung is ramping up its release schedule as One UI 7 updates reliably reach Galaxy phones and tablets. Just yesterday, updates began rolling out for the Galaxy S22 series, Z Fold 4, and Z Flip 4, all ahead of their slated May release timelines. Additionally, updates for the previous generation are arriving earlier than anticipated.

On X, Tarun Vats shared images of the Galaxy S21 receiving its One UI 7 update notification in South Korea. This marks the initial distribution phase in Samsung’s home market before the updates are expected to be made available globally in the following days.

The 2021 flagship Galaxy S21 is accompanied by that year’s foldable devices, the Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3, which have also started receiving the One UI 7 update in South Korea, as reported by SamMobile. Originally, these devices were scheduled to receive their updates in May, and their early rollout is a sign that Samsung is on the mend following previous delays.

As anticipation builds, many are curious about which Galaxy devices will be next to receive their updates. The remaining models on Samsung’s July schedule include A-series phones and some tablets like the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and the Tab A9 series. Predictions are welcome in the comments.
