George Clooney’s Play Opening Attracts Star-Studded Support
The Broadway premiere of George Clooney’s play “Good Night, and Good Luck” drew a prominent crowd, with many of his famous connections turning out to show their support. Notable attendees included Jennifer Lopez, who appeared with her child, Emme, alongside Clooney’s co-stars and friends.
Rande Gerber, Clooney’s partner in Casamigos, was seen on the red carpet with his wife, model Cindy Crawford, and their daughter, Kaia. Pierce Brosnan made an appearance with his wife, Keely, while Clooney’s former “ER” colleagues, Julianna Margulies and Anthony Edwards, also joined in the festivities.
The evening was further brightened by the presence of prominent figures such as Gayle King, Richard Kind, and news anchor George Stephanopoulos accompanied by his spouse, Ali Wentworth.
Interestingly absent was Clooney’s wife, Amal, who he mentioned was at home tending to their children.
Returning to the story that originally earned him critical acclaim in his 2005 film, Clooney has taken on the lead role of journalist Edward R. Murrow in this iteration of “Good Night, and Good Luck.”
The opening night performance received enthusiastic applause from the audience, reflecting a warm reception for Clooney’s return to the stage.
Asked about the challenge of performing eight shows a week for the next six months, Clooney expressed confidence, humorously stating, “I can handle it, I think I’ll be okay,” adding with a laugh, “I’m not dead yet!”
He also shared that he had been residing in New York City for around a month with Amal and their twins, Alexander and Ella, who have already started school in the city.
With its current run on Broadway, “Good Night, and Good Luck” showcases Clooney’s evolution from film to live theater.
