Gigi Hadid has opened up about her highly publicized romantic life in a recent interview featured in a Vogue cover story released on March 11. The 29-year-old model discussed her relationship with actor Bradley Cooper, marking one of her first remarks on their romance.
During the conversation, Hadid referred to Cooper by his first name, sharing how he has reignited her passion for musical theater. “He has opened me up to going to the theater more, and that’s something that’s so nice to bring back into my life,” she stated, expressing her dream of engaging in theater activities. “That’s scary to say to you,” she added, highlighting her vulnerability.
Hadid described her romance with Cooper as “very romantic and happy,” though she emphasized her desire to maintain a degree of privacy regarding certain elements of their relationship. “It’s just not part of our relationship to share for whatever reason,” she remarked, indicating the couple’s mutual commitment to personal growth. “I think just getting to the point where knowing what you want and deserve in a relationship is essential,” she elaborated. “Then to find someone that is in a place in their life where they know what they want and deserve… you both do work separately to come together and be the best partner that you can be. I just feel really lucky. Yeah, lucky’s the word.”
She also applauded the 50-year-old actor for his support, noting, “I feel that he gives so much to me: encouragement and, just, belief. For those people you admire to encourage you, it can create so much belief in yourself. Like, what’s the worst thing if I auditioned for this? You jump and take the leap.”
How Gigi & Bradley Met
In her interview with Vogue, Hadid recounted that her introduction to Cooper took place at a “backyard birthday party” for the child of a friend they both share. This informal setting provided a sense of normalcy in a dating landscape that often feels overly exposed to public scrutiny.
“You want to give yourself a normal experience of dating, and even for my friends who aren’t public figures, that’s hard,” she observed. “Where do you go? And, what? You just start talking to people? And then there’s another added layer of privacy and security. You want to believe that people are going to have your back and not call TMZ or go on Deuxmoi or whatever, but you just don’t know.”
Hadid and Cooper were first linked romantically in October 2023 when they were spotted dining together. She first acknowledged Cooper during the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, sharing with Entertainment Tonight that he was “watching from home on dad duty, but so supportive.”
Cooper is a father to his 7-year-old daughter, Lea De Seine, with his ex-partner Irina Shayk, while Hadid shares her 4-year-old daughter, Khai, with former boyfriend Zayn Malik.
