Sony has announced the lineup of titles set to join the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for the month of January, with the much-anticipated God of War Ragnarök leading the charge. This action-adventure game, developed by Santa Monica Studio, acts as a direct sequel to the critically acclaimed 2018 installment of God of War. Players will accompany Kratos and Atreus as they venture through the Norse realms, engaging in a quest against Odin and his formidable forces. Other noteworthy additions for January include the action-adventure game Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, the action RPG Atlas Fallen: Reign of Sand, and the rhythm-based game Sayonara Wild Hearts, among others. Starting January 21, all listed games will be accessible to members of the PS Plus Extra and Deluxe/Premium tiers.
Further enriching the gaming experience, Sony also revealed a selection of titles joining the PS Plus Classics Catalog this month through a detailed blog entry. Earlier this January, the company disclosed its slate of monthly free games, which includes Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, NFS: Hot Pursuit Remastered, and The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, all of which are available for PS Plus subscribers across various membership tiers.
PS Plus Game Catalog Titles for January
God of War Ragnarök prominently stands out in the upcoming PS Plus Game Catalog. Not only does it adhere to the qualities of a well-executed sequel, but it also enhances the gameplay experience through expanded action, richer storytelling, and improved graphics compared to its predecessor.
This new chapter in Kratos’ saga draws to a close as he confronts significant figures such as Odin and Thor, accompanied by Atreus. The game includes a larger and more immersive hub world for players to explore freely, as well as a range of new weaponry and challenging boss battles. God of War Ragnarök will be available for both PS4 and PS5 consoles.

Another standout title featured in this month’s Game Catalog is Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. In this entry, players follow the protagonist Kazuma Kiryu, who adopts the identity of a secret agent after abandoning his previous name. The narrative bridges events from 2020’s Yakuza: Like a Dragon, providing essential backstory leading into the upcoming release of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth in 2024.
True to RGG Studio’s style, the game combines dynamic brawler combat with a meticulously crafted open world, packed with numerous side activities for players to enjoy. It is slated for release on both PS4 and PS5.
