Good Night, and Good Luck has joined forces with the New York City Department of Education to offer 2,000 tickets to students in New York City Public Schools, including those with a focus on journalism. This initiative is made possible through the support of the production and TodayTix.

Peter Avery, Director of Theater for the NYC Department of Education, expressed appreciation in a recent statement: “We are grateful to George Clooney, the producers of Good Night, and Good Luck, and TodayTix for their remarkable generosity. This initiative recognizes that the world truly serves as a stage for our NYC public school students, allowing them to explore crucial educational and life skills related to literacy, artistic interpretation, and perspective. We are excited for students citywide to engage in creative learning that highlights the intersection of theater, journalism, and politics…on Broadway!”

The student matinees for Good Night, and Good Luck are aligned with the ongoing commitment of Clooney and Heslov to enhance education through the arts, initiated through the Roybal Film and Television Production Magnet model. Established in 2022 by Clooney, Heslov, and Bryan Lourd from Creative Artists Agency, the Roybal initiative aims to open pathways to quality careers in film and television via practical training and career access. Among the schools benefiting from this program are the Motion Picture Technical High School and the Robert Halmi Sr. Academy of Film and Television, part of a national network adhering to the Roybal model.

Stemming from the 2929 Entertainment and Participant film distributed by Warner Bros., the stage adaptation features a talented cast portraying significant historical figures alongside Clooney, who takes on the role of Edward R. Murrow. The ensemble includes Mac Brandt as Colonel Anderson, Will Dagger as Don Hewitt, Christopher Denham as John Aaron, among others. Notable performances will also come from Glenn Fleshler as Fred Friendly and Ilana Glazer as Shirley Wershba. The cast is rounded out by Paul Gross, Georgia Heers, and several others, contributing to a comprehensive representation of this pivotal moment in journalism history.
