Sunita Ahuja Discusses Changes in Her Marriage to Govinda

Sunita Ahuja, the wife of renowned actor Govinda, has recently opened up about the evolving dynamics of their long-standing marriage. In an interview, she revealed that the couple now lives separately, leading her to question the security she once felt in their relationship.

Living Arrangements and Relationship Reflections

Sunita shared details about their current living situation, indicating that while she resides with their children in an apartment, Govinda stays in a nearby bungalow. This separation has led to a strain on her feelings of marital security. “We have two houses, we have a bungalow opposite our apartment. I have my temple and my kids in the flat. We live in the flat whereas he gets late after his meetings,” she explained. Sunita expressed a sentiment of distance, emphasizing that her family interactions often lack depth, as they prefer not to waste energy on excessive conversation.

Sunita’s remarks highlight her desire for more engagement and togetherness, which has been missing in their relationship, especially with Govinda’s busy schedule. “He loves talking so he’ll gather 10 people and sit chatting with them. Whereas me, my son and my daughter live together, but we hardly talk,” she added.

Changing Dynamics Over the Years

In her candid discussion, Sunita mentioned that Govinda’s commitment to his work leaves little room for romance. She expressed a longing for shared experiences, stating, “I am a person who wants to go out with her husband and eat pani-puri on the streets.” Reflecting on their time together, she noted the lack of outings, mentioning that they had not gone to see a movie in years.

Sunita humorously commented on her concerns regarding infidelity, saying, “I used to be very secure earlier on in our marriage, now I am not.” Her remarks hinted at an underlying anxiety about trust as they age, remarking, “You never know what people do behind your back. People change colors like a chameleon.” She attributed some of her worries to Govinda’s age, stating, “Now that he is over 60, I am scared.” Sunita reminisced about times when Govinda’s busy lifestyle kept him from straying but expressed her fears about what might happen if he finds himself with too much free time.

A Lasting Partnership

The couple has been married for nearly four decades, having tied the knot in 1987 when Sunita was only 18. They have two children, Yashvardhan and Tina Ahuja, and often share glimpses into their family life despite the challenges they face. Through her reflections, Sunita Ahuja provides a glimpse into the complexities of marriage and the ways in which routines and personal choices can impact relationships over time.
