Avowed is a role-playing game (RPG) that incorporates a transmogrification system, allowing players to customize their character’s appearance while retaining the benefits of more powerful equipment. This feature proves valuable, particularly for gamers who prioritize aesthetics alongside functionality.
Despite its advantages, navigating the transmogrification system can be somewhat confusing, especially for those unfamiliar with its mechanics. Below is a guide on how to personalize your character’s outfit using this system in Avowed.
How to transmog your appearance in Avowed
Avowed offers extensive options for character customization, including outfits, accessories, and armor that can be reflected in both gameplay and cutscenes. Players often encounter armor pieces that they find visually appealing, only to discover that these items possess subpar stats, or conversely, discover equipment that is statistically advantageous but visually unappealing. To address this dilemma, Avowed integrates a transmogrification system similar to several other RPGs.
This mechanic enables players to maintain the statistics of one item while adopting the appearance of another, thus providing greater freedom to explore and experiment with numerous outfits throughout the game.
To transmogrify an item in Avowed, the process is straightforward. First, access your inventory and navigate to the armor section. Equip the piece of armor or outfit that offers the desired stats by pressing the Right Trigger (RT) on Xbox or left-clicking on the designated option on PC. Afterward, locate the armor piece whose appearance you prefer and press the Left Trigger (LT) on Xbox or right-click on the option on PC to initiate the transmogrification.
Upon completing this action, your character’s appearance will shift to reflect the chosen look while preserving the stats of the originally equipped armor. An indicator in the form of a diamond will appear next to the equipped item, while an eye symbol will identify which garments can be transmogrified. Notably, the transmogrification system is compatible with unique armor; this means players can use the aesthetic of unique items with standard gear or maintain the functionality of unique armor while adopting the appearance of more common items. However, it is essential to note that, as of now, the ability to transmogrify weapons and alter their appearances is not available.
