Harlequin Trade Publishing, a part of HarperCollins, has revealed a major restructuring initiative aimed at streamlining its publishing operations. This overhaul will merge its five existing imprints into three primary ones: Hanover Square Press, MIRA Books, and Park Row Books.
Hanover Square Press will maintain its emphasis on nonfiction genres, including biography, business, history, journalism, memoir, pop culture, psychology, science, and true crime. The imprint will broaden its scope by integrating horror and fantasy into its selection, which already features crime, literary, and speculative fiction. Noteworthy authors associated with Hanover Square include John Banville, Dana Bash, Toshikazu Kawaguchi, and Rick Ross.
MIRA Books will take over the operations of Canary Street Press and will concentrate on the commercial romance and romantic fiction market. This imprint is known for working with popular romance writers such as Kristen Callihan, Robyn Carr, Tarryn Fisher, Susan Mallery, and Jasmine Mas.
Park Row Books is set to continue offering a range of upmarket book club fiction and narrative nonfiction, showcasing talents such as Pam Jenoff, Mary Kubica, Sarah Penner, and Lisa Unger. The previously established Graydon House imprint will be discontinued by the end of 2025, with its remaining works transitioning to the three continued imprints.
Harlequin has assured that employee levels will remain consistent throughout this transition. While some editorial staff will be reassigned to different teams, the publisher plans to sustain its output at an impressive 180 titles annually. Leadership for the revised editorial teams will be provided by Peter Joseph for Hanover Square, Susan Swinwood for MIRA, and Erika Imranyi for Park Row.
