Health Canada has announced a recall involving specific products from the well-known insecticide brand Raid. This recall concerns two items: Raid Outdoor Ant Nest Destroyer 2 and Raid Max Wasp & Hornet Foam Bug Killer 2, both identified due to leakage issues with their aerosol cans.
The affected products were distributed across Canada between December 2023 and January 2025, totaling approximately 456,804 units. Health officials indicate that these issues stem from a manufacturing problem that has impacted only these particular items in the country.

The recall notice communicated on Wednesday specified, “Raid Outdoor Ant Nest Destroyer 2 and Raid Max Wasp & Hornet Foam Bug Killer 2 aerosol cans show signs of leaking. It has been determined that this issue is limited to cans manufactured at a specific facility and impacts only these two products in the Canadian market.” Fortunately, as of March 28, the company has not received any reports of injuries related to this concern.
In related news, there have been other product recalls recently, including certain acetaminophen and melatonin tablets sold in Canada.
Health Canada encourages consumers to visit the company’s recall website for detailed instructions on how to proceed with the affected products. If users encounter a can that is leaking, Health Canada advises the use of personal protective equipment, such as latex gloves, to minimize risk. Furthermore, consumers are instructed not to dispose of the product by flushing it into surface water or the sewage system, and to employ proper containment methods to prevent environmental contamination.
