Heidi Klum’s Residences: Where Does the Supermodel Call Home?

Heidi Klum’s love for fashion is widely recognized, but her passion for home renovation and design is equally significant. Known for her creative approach to decorating, Klum has transformed each of her residences to reflect her family’s evolving needs. “I’m not someone who is like, ‘Okay, this is a museum and you can’t sit here and you can’t touch this and everything has to be put in its place,’” Klum shared in an interview with People in 2009. While she and then-husband Seal were raising young children, their home welcomed guests with oversized stuffed animals and playthings. Now that her offspring are older, including her eldest daughter Leni, 20, the decor has shifted—though still tailored to her family’s lifestyle. Noteworthy gifts adorn her spaces, such as a piece of the Berlin Wall gifted by guitarist Tom Kaulitz shortly after their wedding, as well as a whimsical giant plastic snail acquired at a charity event—both symbols of her eclectic taste.

New York City apartments

Klum’s journey in America began when she first arrived in New York City after stints in Miami. Her initial living situation involved a modest apartment in the gritty Lower East Side, later moving to a more upscale residence in Murray Hill with her first husband, Ric Pipino. This apartment, described as needing much work, featured an outdated charm that Klum attempted to enhance with a “shabby chic” touch. As Klum’s career began to skyrocket—highlighted by her appearances on the cover of Sports Illustrated and her role as a Victoria’s Secret Angel—the buzz surrounding her transformed her living arrangements, paving the way for larger spaces suited to her growing status in the fashion world.

Tuscany-style Brentwood villa

In 2004, Klum met her second husband, Seal, and they subsequently tied the knot on a picturesque beach in Mexico. To accommodate their expanding family, they purchased a luxurious Tuscan-style villa in Brentwood for $14.2 million in 2010. This expansive estate covered 8.4 acres and boasted a grand 12,300-square-foot main house. The couple undertook extensive renovations to restore the property, which had lain vacant for two years prior to their acquisition. Emphasizing her affinity for aesthetics, Klum described the property’s gardens as reminiscent of a home in southern France. The villa featured numerous amenities, including a chef’s kitchen, media room, and a striking infinity pool, along with extensive outdoor spaces for their children. After their separation in 2012, Klum sold the villa for $24 million in 2014.

Bel Air mansion

Following her divorce, Klum purchased a Georgia-style mansion in Bel Air for $9.875 million in 2013. Spanning 11,000 square feet, this impressive home features six bedrooms and nine bathrooms, ample space for her children and visitors to enjoy. The property includes a grand entrance with white columns, a circular driveway, a backyard equipped with a trampoline and pizza oven, and a tranquil pool area. Here, Klum integrates personal mementos, like the artwork-covered section of the Berlin Wall and her giant plastic snail, into her home. During the pandemic, she dedicated time to her art in the studio located in her Bel Air mansion. Klum continues to make this her primary residence, now shared with her husband Tom Kaulitz.

SoHo penthouse

Klum and Kaulitz have been spotted frequently in SoHo, showcasing their vibrant life together in New York City. Their relationship reflects a shared passion for creativity, not only in their personal endeavors but also in the aesthetic choices they embrace in their surroundings.
