Audible Premieres Strategic Love Play in New York
Audible has launched the New York premiere of Strategic Love Play, featuring notable performances by Heléne Yorke and Michael Zegen. This dynamic production is currently showcased at Audible’s Minetta Lane Theatre and will run for five weeks, concluding on Saturday, December 7. In a move to broaden its audience, the performance will be recorded for future release on Audible, allowing millions of listeners globally to experience the show.
From Fringe to Broadway
Written by Miriam Battye and directed by Katie Posner, Strategic Love Play has garnered attention following its successful stint at the 2023 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where it sold out, as well as noteworthy performances during a UK tour and multiple sold-out shows at London’s Soho Theatre. The piece was initially created in collaboration with Paines Plough, Soho Theatre, and Belgrade Theatre alongside Landmark Theatres.
A Date Like No Other
The narrative centers around two individuals who connect through an online platform—portrayed by Yorke and Zegen—who find their first in-person meeting to be awkward and riddled with miscommunication. Despite the tension, an unseen force keeps them engaged, leading their typical dating experience to evolve into an unforeseen adventure. This innovative production brings to life what audiences have come to love, building upon its previous successes in London and Edinburgh to make its debut in New York.

The show features an impressive creative team, including scenic design by Arnulfo Maldonado, costume design by Dede Ayite, and lighting design by Jen Schriever.
