Paper Mill Playhouse has announced the cast and creative team for Disney’s *The Little Mermaid*, marking the conclusion of its 2024-2025 season. This cherished musical is set to commence performances on Thursday, May 29, culminating in an opening night on Sunday, June 1, and will run until Sunday, June 29.
Under the direction and choreography of JoAnn M. Hunter, known for her work on *School of Rock* and *Bad Cinderella*, the production will showcase Hillary Fisher as Ariel and Haven Burton as Ursula. Other key roles include Nick Cortazzo as Jetsam, Mark Doyle as Prince Eric, Sean Patrick Doyle as Flotsam, Jared Goldsmith as Scuttle, Christopher Gurr as Grimsby, Aubrey Matalon as Flounder, Kyle Taylor Parker as Sebastian, and Graham Rowat as King Triton. The ensemble will comprise David Baida, Caleb Bermejo, Kelsey Myron Cauthen, Tzintli Cerda, Jonathan Duvelson, Caroline Kane, Alexandra Matteo, Michael Milkanin, Mia Nelson, Justin O’Brien, Charlie Ray, Lily Rose, Taylor Rosenberger, Kaitlyn Louise Smith, Richard Westfahl, and Peli Naomi Woods.
Featuring music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman & Glenn Slater, the production is based on the beloved fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen, as well as the iconic Disney film developed by Howard Ashman & John Musker and directed by John Musker & Ron Clements.
The creative team boasts original scenic design by Kenneth Foy, with additional scenic coordination from Kelly James Tighe. Costume designs come from Amy Clark and Mark Koss, complemented by coordination from Leon Dobkowski. The technical aspects include lighting design by Charlie Morrison, sound design by Matt Kraus, hair and wig design by Leah J. Loukas, and music direction by Nate Patten, with flying sequence choreography by Paul Rubin. The TRC Company takes care of casting, while Melissa Chacón serves as the production stage manager. The scenery, props, and aquatic costumes are a collaborative effort involving Broadway Dallas, Paper Mill Playhouse, Pittsburgh CLO, Starlight Theatre, and Theatre Under The Stars.

This whimsical tale features beloved songs like “Part of Your World,” “Kiss the Girl,” and the Academy Award-winning “Under the Sea.” It is a delightful fusion of adventure, humor, and romance that appeals to both nostalgic fans and newcomers alike.
