Analyzing Today’s Wordle
Daily, I utilize Wordle Bot to evaluate my game strategies. You can explore your own gameplay through Wordle Bot here.
Tackling a Wordle that is in the form of a past participle can be quite the challenge. Generally, I find nouns easier compared to other word forms. I started my session with the word CHOIR, which left me with 110 potential solutions and just one correct letter identified. Unfortunately, my next guess of SLATE only narrowed it down to 13 options. My final guess, WOODY, led me to the correct answer: KNOWN. Hindsight is 20/20; I could have made better choices!
Competitive Wordle Score Update

It seems like my performance on this 2XP Friday was somewhat underwhelming. Both Wordle Bot and I solved the puzzle in four attempts, which means we both earn 0 points. Here’s how my score for April looks:
My Score: 11 points
Wordle Bot’s Score: 15 points
Understanding Competitive Wordle Scoring
- Guessing the word in 1 attempt: 3 points
- Guessing in 2 attempts: 2 points
- Guessing in 3 attempts: 1 point
- Guessing in 4 attempts: 0 points
- Guessing in 5 attempts: -1 point
- Guessing in 6 attempts: -2 points
- Failing to guess the word: -3 points
If you outperform your rival, you gain 1 point; a tie awards 0 points, and a lower score deducts 1 point. Tally your scores for each match or maintain a daily record. Fridays amplify the stakes with double points — both positive and negative. Enjoy your game!
Etymology of Today’s Wordle
The word “known” originates from the Old English cnāwan meaning “to know,” which traces back to Proto-Germanic knewaną and even further to Proto-Indo-European ǵneh₃-, translating to “to know, perceive.” Interestingly, the “k” was once pronounced but has remained silent in the evolution of Middle English.
