Honor has announced a significant partnership with Google Cloud during its Next 2025 event. This collaboration is set to introduce several “co-developed” features for consumers via a new product anticipated for release in May 2025, incorporating assistance from Veo and Gemini to enhance office tools. Additionally, Honor reiterated some of its previously unveiled AI features, including AI Eraser and AI Outpainting, specifically for the 400 Lite model in Europe. The Chinese manufacturer also introduced its Honor Alpha Plan, which focuses on human-centric AI, an AI ecosystem, and AGI during the MWC 2025 conference.
Honor is providing insights into the potential benefits of its enhanced partnership with Google Cloud.
In a recent press announcement, Honor detailed three upcoming AI features that will be integrated into its devices as part of the Google Cloud Next 2025 initiative. The company emphasized that its “close collaboration” with Google is expected to support the development of both on-device and cloud-based AI functionalities. Eric Fang, Honor’s senior director of product planning, hinted at innovative product and productivity offerings on the horizon.
Fang revealed that the forthcoming products, scheduled for a May 2025 launch, will include features that utilize Google’s Veo video generation technology. This collaboration has led to the creation of “co-developed experiences” aimed at enhancing the quality of generated content and creating a more realistic viewing experience. Furthermore, Fang teased the introduction of “advanced office tools” for users with the upcoming Gemini integration.

Honor highlighted two AI capabilities developed alongside Google Cloud: AI Outpainting and AI Eraser. AI Outpainting revolutionizes the post-processing of images by utilizing Google’s Imagen software, enabling users to enlarge photos up to “twice their original size.” This feature is integrated into Honor’s AiMAGE Suite, allowing for post-capture adjustments such as reframing and rotation.
The intent behind this feature is to alleviate the pressure of achieving perfect photo composition. Fang elaborated that “the optimized generative fill guarantees that the expanded images merge seamlessly, even in intricate environments like urban settings and landscapes.”
In addition, Honor reaffirmed the functionality of AI Eraser, a tool familiar to many Pixel users. This feature removes undesired elements from images and employs on-device AI to fill in the void with contextually appropriate content. These two AI features, along with AI Upscale, were launched with the Honor 400 Lite in Europe earlier this April. Fang emphasized that this reflects Honor’s ambition to “democratize” AI, making sophisticated software accessible to a broader audience, including users of midrange devices.

Earlier this year, Honor laid out a more AI-centered vision for its product line, detailing what users could expect at MWC 2025. In March, the company unveiled its Alpha Plan, a three-pronged strategy that focuses on smart devices. Furthermore, Honor emphasized the importance of an AI ecosystem and AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) in redefining the horizons of human potential and fostering a new era of societal advancement.
The announcement made during MWC 2025 provided an initial look at the AiMAGE Suite, which leverages an AI kernel to enhance device-cloud AI capabilities for improving image clarity. Through partnerships with Google Cloud and Qualcomm Technologies, Honor is positioning itself to introduce AI functionalities that could help users with tasks like making restaurant reservations via third-party services.
Additionally, Honor has confirmed that its DeepFake Detection software will be available in flagship models and foldable devices in international markets. This feature is part of a broader initiative to enhance consumer safety and trust in digital media.
