Representative Shri Thanedar, a Democrat from Michigan, announced on Monday that he has filed seven articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump.
Thanedar stated, “Donald Trump has repeatedly demonstrated that he is unfit to serve as President and represents a clear and present danger to our nation’s constitution and our democracy,” according to a news release.
The articles charge Trump with various offenses, including “Obstruction of Justice and Abuse of Executive Power,” “Usurpation of Appropriations Power,” “Abuse of Trade Powers and International Aggression,” “Violation of First Amendment Rights,” “Creation of an Unlawful Office,” “Bribery and Corruption,” and “Tyrannical Overreach.”

Thanedar has characterized Trump as “a clear and present danger to our nation’s constitution and our democracy” in his announcement. He emphasized that the president’s actions have undermined the justice system and violated the separation of powers, prioritizing personal ambitions over public service. “We cannot wait for more damage to be done. Congress must act,” he added.
Fox News Digital attempted to contact the White House for a response but did not receive any comment by the time the article was published.

This latest impeachment initiative is expected to be ineffective in the GOP-controlled House of Representatives, but it represents the third occasion on which a representative has sought to file impeachment articles against Trump.
Trump was impeached twice during his first term, but each effort failed to secure the necessary votes for conviction in the Senate. The second impeachment occurred just prior to the end of his term, with the acquittal coming after he had left office.
