The introduction of Tinkatink, the Metalsmith Pokemon, and its evolutions marks an exciting new chapter in Pokemon Go. This article covers everything you need to know about their arrival, including the availability of their shiny forms.
Originally from Generation 9 and first appearing in the games Scarlet & Violet, Tinkatink is a dual Fairy/Steel-type Pokemon. Its final form, Tinkaton, quickly gained popularity among fans thanks to its appealing design and impressive capabilities.
In celebration of the success of the animated series Pokemon Horizons: The Series, a special event will include both creatures and characters from the show, featuring Tinkatink’s evolutionary line, a Floragato in costume, and more!
How to Obtain Tinkatink in Pokemon Go
The special event is scheduled to take place from April 16, 2025, to April 22, 2025. According to Niantic’s announcement, trainers can encounter Tinkatink through several methods in the game:
- As a reward for completing Research tasks
- By hatching from 7km Eggs
During this limited-time event, players can also take part in a Paid Timed Research assignment that provides extra opportunities to encounter Tinkatink. Following the conclusion of the Pokemon Horizons: The Series Celebration, Tinkatink will be shifted to 10km Eggs, making it considerably rarer to find.
Given the rarity of Tinkatink, trainers might face challenges in gathering sufficient Candy required for evolving Tinkatink into Tinkatuff and ultimately Tinkaton. Such events present a prime opportunity for players to accumulate the necessary resources.
Evolving Tinkatink into Tinkatuff and Tinkaton
Tinkatink is part of a trio, and while evolving requires a significant amount of Candy, trainers will not need any special items to initiate the evolution process.
To evolve Tinkatink into Tinkatuff, players must gather 25 Candy. Subsequently, an additional 100 Candy is required to evolve Tinkatuff into Tinkaton.
If accumulating Candy proves difficult, focus on hatching as many Eggs as possible while leveraging the event’s 1/2 hatch distance bonus.
Moreover, when encountering Tinkatink as a Research task reward, using Pinap Berries will maximize your Candy yield with each capture.
Ensure that Tinkatink is assigned as your Buddy; by walking together, you can earn extra Candy. Additionally, consider transferring any excess Tinkatink to Professor Willow to gain more Candy.
Tinkatink’s Stats, Moves, Resistances, and Weaknesses
As a dual-type Fairy/Steel Pokemon, Tinkatink boasts the following stats:
ATTACK: 85
DEFENSE: 101
STAMINA: 79
CP: 973
Fast Moves
Rock Smash (Fighting)
Fairy Wind (Fairy/STAB)
Charged Moves
Flash Cannon (Steel/STAB)
Play Rough (Fairy/STAB)
Resistances
Tinkatink enjoys resistances typical of its dual typing, making it robust against various types of moves.
Weaknesses
Despite its strengths, Tinkatink has vulnerabilities that trainers should be aware of, including weaknesses common to Fairy and Steel types.
Will Tinkatink Have Shiny Variants?
Currently, Tinkatink does not have a Shiny variant available in Pokemon Go.
It is a common practice for newly introduced Pokemon to debut without their Shiny versions. Niantic tends to reserve these variations for future special events, often unveiling them around a year after the initial release.
It’s essential to note that the overall odds of encountering a Shiny Pokemon remain low, with no concrete method to guarantee a successful find.
To improve your chances, trainers are encouraged to capture a diverse range of wild Pokemon, engage in Raid battles, and hatch numerous Eggs to increase the likelihood of encountering a Shiny.
This covers everything you need to know about Tinkatink’s inclusion in Pokemon Go. Be sure to stay updated with the latest events and happenings, including the ongoing Community Day and Spotlight Hours.
