How to Successfully Navigate the Abyssal Zenith Layer in Mariana’s Veil in Fisch

The Abyssal Zenith, nestled beneath Challenger’s Deep, can be reached by following a pathway marked by luminous, purple, seaweed-like plants after finishing the quest in Challenger’s Deep. Unlike previous layers, merely descending through the Veil won’t suffice to access this new domain in Fisch.

Fisch Abyssal Zenith Guide

Upon descending to the designated coordinates of (-9008, -9633, 291), players might encounter a menacing purple Anglerfish lurking near the first archway, serving as the entrance to the Abyssal Zenith. These Anglerfish pose a significant threat, as any contact can propel a submarine backwards, necessitating a restart from the layer’s entrance.

Navigating the Anglerfish

To safely traverse the Anglerfish tunnel, it’s critical to pay attention to the archways positioned throughout the tunnel. There are five archways that act as safe spots as you move through this perilous section. Exercise patience and wait for the Anglerfish to pass before making your move to the next archway. It’s advisable to maneuver your submarine to fit snugly within each archway while using your camera angle to locate the next safe point.

Once you navigate past the fifth archway, a lengthy passageway will lead you to the surface of the Abyssal Zenith at (-13420, -11050, 110).

Abyssal Zenith Points of Interest

Arriving in the Abyssal Zenith reveals a small enclave that houses an Innkeeper and a Submariner NPC. The Innkeeper is essential for setting your spawn point in this cavern, which is highly recommended as you may need to return to the surface during this segment of the event. Situated next to the Innkeeper is the portal that leads back to Roslit Bay at (-13515, -11050, 175).

If you wish to acquire the Rod of the Zenith, it can be found in the southwest corner of the cavern at (-13625, -11035, 355). To locate it, remain at ground level and move towards the rock face beyond the portal. This rod is available for purchase at 10,000,000C$.

Retrieving the Angler’s Lantern

To advance deeper into Mariana’s Veil, players must complete a quest located above the altar beside the Innkeeper. As part of this quest, you are tasked with retrieving the Angler’s Lantern, situated in a challenging pond at the cavern’s entrance. The lantern is guarded by three large Anglerfish, making the retrieval a hazardous endeavor for unprepared players.

The key to acquiring the Angler’s Lantern safely is to temporarily incapacitate the Anglerfish. This can be achieved by feeding them with either an Orca or The Kraken while submerged, which will put them to sleep. Once the Anglerfish are subdued, they will settle at the bottom, granting you a limited window to interact with the lantern. Having either a Water Bubble or Advanced Diving Gear will be crucial in preventing drowning during the retrieval.

Both the Orca and Kraken are classified as exotic fish and can be difficult to catch.

The Orca Migration event occurs one hour after a server starts and subsequently every hour following the conclusion of the last migration. This event is announced across the server, with orcas appearing along a designated route. Only five orcas are available during each migration, resulting in competitive hunting. The event is brief, lasting merely 15 minutes.

On the other hand, capturing the Kraken necessitates significant progress in Atlantis, requiring players to complete four trials and activate their respective Mythological Clocks before gaining access to the Kraken Pool. This area can only be approached when a server-wide Kraken Hunt is initiated.

Since each Anglerfish remains asleep for five minutes after being fed, it’s wise to bring multiple Orcas or Krakens if you’re attempting to collect the Angler’s Lantern solo. Alternatively, players may consider coordinating efforts with others in the Fisch Discord server for assistance.

Fishing in the Abyssal Zenith

Once you obtain the Angler’s Lantern, you can begin gathering the necessary items for the Deep Upgrade by fishing within the Abyssal Zenith pool. The fishing area is conveniently located within the same body of water as the lantern, allowing for efficient collection of required fish.

Additional fish needed for the upgrade include:

Abyssal Bearded Seadevil
Voidglow Ghostfish

Patience may be required for fishing in this area, but these two species are essential for progressing in your upgrade journey.

Completing the Deep Upgrade

With the Angler’s Lantern, Abyssal Bearded Seadevil, and Voidglow Ghostfish in hand, head to the upgrade altar located within the Abyssal Zenith. Don’t forget the Level 2 Glimmerfin Suit, which you obtained in Challenger’s Deep, as it is also necessary.

Submitting all four items will grant you the Submarine Deep Upgrade and the Level 3 Glimmerfin Suit, thus allowing you to explore even greater depths in Mariana’s Veil.

After acquiring these upgrades, you can continue your descent below the Abyssal Zenith. If you choose to linger in this area, you may work towards completing the Bestiary, although this also marks the conclusion of your journey through the Abyssal Zenith layer.
