Audible is partnering with TOGETHER to present an exciting new series that features two fully-staged plays, along with readings, panels, and workshops, spread across eight weeks this spring at Audible’s Minetta Lane Theatre. This collaboration, supported by TDF, aims to enhance accessibility and attract a diverse audience, ensuring that more people can engage with the performing arts.
The initiative is anchored by two significant theatrical productions directed by Ian Rickson and performed in repertory. The lineup includes the New York premiere of Hannah Moscovitch’s Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes, featuring Ella Beatty and Hugh Jackman, running from April 28 to June 18. Concurrently, Jen Silverman’s adaptation of August Strindberg’s Creditors, starring Liev Schreiber, Maggie Siff, and Justice Smith, will take the stage from May 10 until June 18. This joint effort not only signifies the sixth off-Broadway season for Audible Theater at Minetta Lane, a venue that has hosted numerous productions since 2018, but also marks the inaugural stage presentations for TOGETHER, the newly launched company by Friedman and Jackman. Furthermore, both plays will be recorded for eventual release on Audible, allowing audiences worldwide to enjoy them.
As part of their commitment to inclusivity, Audible and TOGETHER will provide complimentary tickets for 25% of the seats at every performance to various community partners who typically face challenges in accessing live theater. In collaboration with TDF, which connects with over 150 organizations in the tristate area — encompassing groups that support seniors, veterans, students, and local community members — the initiative aims to reflect a broad spectrum of society in its audiences. Additionally, on the day of each performance, 25% of tickets will be available for $35 through a digital lottery and at the box office. The rest of the tickets will be available for public sale starting April 7 at noon ET.
Alongside the main productions, Audible Theater and TOGETHER are planning a series of related events at Minetta Lane. These will include script readings, panel discussions after performances, and creative workshops designed to foster connections between audiences and practicing artists. Further details regarding casting and ticketing for these events will be released soon.
