Hugh Jackman Prepares for New York Concert Series at Radio City Music Hall
As Hugh Jackman gears up for his highly anticipated concert series at Radio City Music Hall, he shares glimpses of his rehearsal process with fans. The concert series, titled New York With Love, is set to begin on January 24 and will run until October 4, marking Jackman’s first live performances in five years.
Fans can expect a diverse selection of songs, including hits from his most memorable roles such as The Boy From Oz. The concert is being designed to evoke nostalgia while introducing exciting surprises from various points in his career.
In a heartfelt message shared recently, Jackman expressed his gratitude to all involved in the production. He stated, “Before our opening tomorrow night, I want to say an enormous thank you to everyone who’s worked tirelessly on our show. Yes, the incredible cast and orchestra, band, dancers, singers, and crew. But most importantly … the fans!! Without you all, none of this would be possible. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”
Jackman has also provided fans with sneak peeks into his rehearsal sessions, including performances of songs from The Music Man and The Greatest Showman. Notably, he shared practice footage of the iconic Valjean’s Soliloquy from Les Misérables, showcasing his enduring talent.
This year has proven to be a milestone for Jackman, particularly with the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, which has broken box-office records, amassing over $1.3 billion globally. His work in Les Misérables also earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor for his portrayal of Jean Valjean.
In addition to his Oscar nod, Jackman received a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Comedy/Musical and nominations from the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) for both Best Ensemble and Best Male Actor in a Leading Role, as well as a BAFTA nomination. His performance as P.T. Barnum in The Greatest Showman further distinguished him, earning a GRAMMY for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for Visual Media.
